Spam - Mark as Read
I don't see that many complaints, and I do see lots of helpful / useful comments, and when I search through my mail archives looking for solutions to problems re: Mac OS X TeX, they're usually there to be found. What about those who don't get on with the MacOS X TeX community (such as it is)?

News Problems !!!
I downloaded every bit of mail with Netscape and marked it all as read. The server never changed the messages to being read so I'm guessing there was a corrupt file. I think I was still able to open the corrupted email but due to an error it would not get marked as received, so I just deleted it.

Setting it as write-back might allow you to get the reads to do bursting as well (since the CPU will do a cache-line fill instead of individual accesses) I don't see what the cache write policy has to do with the reads. If the region is marked cacheable, then all reads should try and read a cache line, right?

Marking newsgroup messages "read" problem.
Look at the properties of the folders in Windows and see if any in the path are marked "Read Only". You may also want to try the DELTREE command from DOS. I've seen it remove things nothing else would touch. I checked the properties of the folder (and the others higher up the tree) and they were NOT read-only.
